Have you ever squeezed an aloe leaf and watched the gel come out? 

 

Those same gels are also present in other plants, and as natural thickeners, they provide texture, volume, and moisture for the hair!

 

As such, while the product is still hot, seaweed and flax seed are steeped into the water to allow the natural gels to release -- similar to making tea. Once the product is cooled, the gels from aloe, algae, and bamboo are added. The result? A liquid that is much thicker than water and contains a bunch of natural gels!
